'Tired' driver crashes and overturns car in Wiltshire

A tired driver who fell asleep at the wheel has had a very lucky escape after crashing their vehicle.

Officers responded to the incident in Devizes after the driver, who was said to have a busy new years, crashed and overturned their car.

The occupant sustained minor injuries and there was nobody else involved in the incident.

A roadside breathalyser test revealed the driver had not been drinking and the cause of the collision was tiredness. 

A Wiltshire Specialist Operations spokesperson said: "The dangers of driving tired have become abundantly clear to this Devizes motorist, who fell asleep driving home after a busy new years’. Very minor injury, zero on the breath box. Nobody else involved."
