Four people have been arrested, including two teenagers, following an incident outside a Wiltshire prison.
Officers responded to reports of suspicious behaviour outside Erlestoke Prison at around 1:30pm in the afternoon on Thursday, January 2.
An eyewitness described seeing police "swarm" the outside of the prison, with multiple vehicles and police dogs at the scene, while motorists were being advised to avoid the area.
They also described a vehicle driving at them "very quickly" leaving them with little time to react, but they did not know whether this was related to the incident.
Officers at the scene refused to comment on the nature of the incident, but confirmed something had taken place.
Police have since confirmed that four people were arrested, including two 15-year-old boys.
A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, while three males were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to throwing articles into the prison.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We responded to reports of suspicious behaviour outside Erlestoke Prison around 1.30pm this afternoon (02/01).
"A woman, aged in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
"Three males including two 15-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to throwing articles into a prison."
