The A342 has reopened following a serious minibus crash which injured eleven people.
Emergency services rushed to the A342 Monument Hill near Stert at around 11:45am on Thursday, January 9, after the Urchfont Community minibus was involved in a crash with a van.
Eleven people, ranging from their 50s to their 90s in age, were taken to hospital.
Police say that the nature of these injuries are of varying levels of severity and nobody is believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
The A342 remained closed in both directions while the Serious Collision Investigation Team were at the scene, while police issued a warning to motorists that the route would be unlikely to reopen until past midnight. It has since reopened in both directions.
Officers have also launched an appeal for witnesses and they are asking anyone with information to contact them.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A342 this morning (January 9) between a van and a community minibus.
“Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01225 694597 or by emailing SCIT@wiltshire.police.uk, quoting log 114 of today’s date.”
