A team from a Wiltshire brewery is taking on a three-day cycling marathon to celebrate the brewery’s 150th anniversary.
To celebrate Devizes-based Wadworth's landmark achievement, a team of cyclists is marking its 150th anniversary with a three-day, 150-mile charity cycle ride from Fulham in London to Saltford in Somerset.
The funds raised will be split equally between the two charities Licensed Trade Charity and Julia’s House children’s hospice.
On Monday, September 1, the team of determined riders set off from the Kings Arms in Fulham, retracing the route of Wadworth’s founder, Henry Wadworth, who famously completed a similar journey in 1869.
The ride will finish later this afternoon on Wednesday, September 3, at The Riverside pub in Saltford, just outside Bath, where riders will celebrate their achievement.
Day one featured a 64-mile route starting out from the Kings Arms, Fulham, before heading to the Wheelwrights Arms, Reading, Broad Street Tavern, Wokingham, before concluding the day at Bartons Mill in Basingstoke.

The second day also featured a 64-mile ride, starting from Bartons Mill and heading to Newbury and then on to the Borough Arms in Hungerford and on to the Green Dragon in Marlborough, before concluding at the Bear Hotel, Devizes
Day three has been shorter, featuring 22 miles of cycling, starting from the Bear Hotel before heading to the brewery to take photos and penny farthing group shots.
The group then headed to the Barge Inn in Seend on to Canal Tavern in Bradford on Avon, then to Bath for photos and final celebrations before heading for a finish at the Riverside in Saltford.
Wadworth’s Toby Bartholomew, managing director said: “This ride is a wonderful way to celebrate 150 years of Wadworth. We are following in the wheel tracks of our founder while raising money for two incredible causes that are close to our hearts.
