More than 4,000 people turned out to see a spectacular firework display over a Wiltshire town this weekend.

The Bradford on Avon firework show, which was organised by the town council and sponsored by The Kingston Group, took place at Poulton Park on the evening of Sunday, November 2.

The fun kicked off at 4pm with music, and fairground rides and with over 15 catering vans on hand for food and hot drinks

The firework display, which is provided by Pains Fireworks, started at 6pm and lasted around 15 minutes, with entertainment continuing until 7pm.

Katie Ponsford the town council’s tourism and events officer said: "We’ve organised this year’s Fireworks Display at Poulton Park for a Sunday evening.

"The event always draws thousands of people, and we’re excited to bring another dazzling, family-friendly evening to the town.

"We’re excited to be working with Pains Fireworks again, now the fourth year, with their brilliant carbon-neutral displays.”

The Bradford fireworks attract not only people from the town but also brings in visitors from Trowbridge, Westbury Frome and surrounding villages

Although the event is free of charge, donations were welcomed to maintain free events in the town.

Ahead of the event, Bradford on Avon town council said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Poulton Park on Sunday for the fireworks display. The event starts at 4pm – with the display scheduled for 6pm.

“We’ve got ground protection in place already – this week our Town Wardens have cut some of the grass in the meadow and we’ve been briefing the volunteers who will be supporting the event on Sunday evening.

“At the moment, the weather forecast for Sunday is looking pretty good, too. But we do have same rain forecast on Saturday. This means the field might be wet underfoot – so make sure to put on suitable footwear.”
