A Corsham care home has been rated 'good' in all areas following a recent inspection.
Brunel House Care Home received the rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after an inspection carried out on October 1 and 2, 2025.
The CQC found the 65-bed home to be safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.
The home was praised for its strong leadership, effective teamwork, and focus on high-quality, person-centred care.
Xyza Macutay-Malloch, home manager at Brunel House, said: "We are very proud of this report, which reflects the dedication, professionalism and care shown by our entire team.
"Everything we do at Brunel House is focused on supporting those who live here to feel happy, safe and valued."
Brunel House offers residential and nursing care, including specialist support for people living with dementia.
Inspectors noted that "people told us they felt safe living at the service and that staff were kind and caring."
One resident said: "I am happy here; I feel safe. I don’t have any worries about the service."
Another resident praised staff for their attentiveness, saying: "I only need to ask the staff … they know me and know what I like."
The report highlighted that staff treated residents with kindness, empathy, and compassion, while also respecting their privacy and dignity.
Inspectors found that the care home had made significant progress since its last inspection, with improvements recorded across all five key areas.
The CQC said: "Leaders had the skills, knowledge, experience and credibility to lead effectively.
"They did so with integrity, openness and honesty."
The report also praised the home’s culture and communication, noting that staff felt valued and supported.
Inspectors found that risk management, medicines administration and infection prevention were all effective, and that staff showed a clear understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care planning.
Activities and engagement were identified as particular strengths.
The CQC said: "People had access to various activities, events and outings to promote their social and wellbeing needs.
"The service had its own minibus which enabled people to get out and visit their local community.
"If people could not get out, then staff arranged for services to come to them."
Brunel House is part of the Maria Mallaband Care Group and operates from a modern, purpose-built facility.
The home features en-suite bedrooms, spacious communal areas, landscaped gardens, and a varied activities programme.
