A casualty has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash near Devizes.

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A342 in Lydeway at 12:08pm on Saturday, December 13.

One driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for several hours while oil and debris was cleared, but it has since reopened.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We responded to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A342 in Lydeway at 12.08pm following a call from the ambulance service.

"One driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

"The road was closed so that oil and debris could be cleared up but it has since reopened."
