An artist’s work has been exhibited and sold at Christie’s.

Meg Mosley, who is based in Trowbridge and a former student of the John of Gaunt School, saw her photography displayed at the prestigious London auction house as part of Outside In’s Seventh National Open exhibition, Shelter.

The exhibition ran from January 12 to 22 and explored themes of home, safety, belonging, and resilience, while aiming to highlight voices underrepresented in the art world.

Ms Mosley said: "Starting the year by standing in front of my own work hanging in Christie’s is some kind of wonderful."

Her piece, titled Semi-detached, was photographed inside a recently vacated house in Trowbridge and is part of a larger series reflecting on themes of absence, memory, and the subtle marks left by everyday life.

Careful consideration was given to the framing and presentation of the work to echo the atmosphere of the space it depicted.

Images from the same series were previously exhibited at Trowbridge Town Hall, where Ms Mosley’s work won the People’s Choice Award during the venue’s first open exhibition since reopening.

Her success at Christie’s marks a significant achievement in her artistic career and further recognition for her thoughtful approach to photography and storytelling.
