A bank branch in a Wiltshire town centre that mysteriously closed has apologised to customers.
HSBC on Trowbridge’s Fore Street shut as of 12.30pm on Thursday, February 5, with notices posted to the door of the bank’s historic building offering little reason for the closure.
It reads: “Our branch is temporarily closed.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we’re working hard to resume a normal service as soon as possible.”
The notice then directs customers to a number of alternative options to help them do their banking.
A member of the public on the town’s high street said he could see no evidence of refurbishment or construction going on inside or outside the building, with the lights off and no members of staff visible from outside.
HSBC has been approached for more information.
