A beautician is putting the finishing touches to a new store in a “leap of faith”.
Adrianna Ciechomska, 43, a Trowbridge-based beauty therapist is preparing to open the first commercial branch of her business Revive in the old M&Co on Market Street.
The branch will open in March, with a grand opening to be held on March 21.
The opening comes around four years after Ms Ciechomska’s launched Revive, which until now has been running out of a special studio built in her garden.
Speaking with this paper ahead of the opening, Adrianna said: “I feel very excited, because it’s a very positive change. It can be overwhelming. There’s a lot of things that need to be planned. But overall, I’m excited.”
Adrianna has lived in Trowbridge for around 20 years, with a husband and two teenage sons in tow, while Revive has become a successful business in its own right.
She said: “I decided to do something different and rare that’s not available in the surrounding area. The treatment and bands in my salon are not available around here.”
The opening of the new branch is the latest chapter in Adrianna’s journey in the beauty industry, which began in her teens when she spent her summers working at her sister-in-law’s salon in Poland.
Then, four years ago, she launched her business, fulfilling her dream of working in beauty – but she wanted to do it in a different way.
She said: “My main goal was to embrace natural beauty. I don’t want to change anyone, or their experience. I want people to feel good with themselves. I do non-invasive treatments, and work with my clients skin and body, not against them.”
Part of that she says. Adrianna explained that when customers come to her, often they have researched the treatments they’re seeking and find the only places they could get this treatment are in London.
Despite their lack of availability in the local area, however, Adrianna adds that these brands are time-tested and reliable.
Reflecting on her journey and what this moment on the cusp of launching in a new business space means to her, Adrianna said: “I use brands that have been on the market for a long, long time. I don’t want to do quick fixes, I just focus more on wellbeing, wellness, and embracing what we all have.
“That’s what I’ve been doing so far. My clients are very happy with what I offer. I just need growth. Central Trowbridge is a very good spot, because it gives easy access and visibility.”
Among the treatments and brands on offer at Revive are facials using Intraceuticals, and facials from icoone, as well as skin treatments from Bioline Treatments.
She said: “I always believe it’s going to be OK, but you never know when you start, and you take a massive leap of faith. But when you really believe in what you do, and when your work aligns with your ethos and lifestyle, I think you bring the right clients in.
“I didn’t know anyone in the industry, it was just me with a device that hardly anyone knows, and it’s been a massive success. I’m proud of myself in a way. But being self-employed is not easy.
“There is always a risk, and you don’t have the safety, so it’s hard work, and you don’t stop, it’s almost 24/7. But it’s worth it if you like it and set boundaries. And I love it.”
Adrianna will add another business to the former M&Co branch by the town hall, which also saw Always You, a bridal shop, open on the site late last year.
