Drivers in a Wiltshire town centre have been hit by delays after a “crash” blocked a busy road.

Traffic monitoring services have warned motorists to expect queues in Melksham town centre on Saturday, February 14, following an earlier incident on the High Street.

The AA reported that a crash on the route, between King Street and Lowbourne, had blocked the carriageway in both directions shortly after midday.

At the time of writing, there was still slow traffic in the area, with long queues causing delays on High Street, Bank Street, and Bath Road.

Warning drivers following the “crash”, the AA said traffic was slow due to the road being partially blocked.

It said: “Partially blocked and slow traffic due to crash on High Street both ways between King Street and A3102 Lowbourne.

Traffic monitoring service INRIX issued a similar warning shortly after 1pm.

It added: “High Street both ways partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident between King Street and A3102 Lowbourne.”
