A 91-year-old great-grandfather has been crowned Aldi’s ‘Champion Flipper’.
Peter Quinney, from Melksham, Wiltshire, was awarded the prestigious title ahead of Pancake Day.
Despite his age, Mr Quinney can pull off a 360-degree trampolining flip while holding a pancake in a frying pan at his local gym.
Mr Quinney soared to a height of 7 feet, earning him a well-deserved lemon and sugar-coated pancake treat.
The occasion took place at Spire Heights Trampoline School, where the trampolining stalwart has been both training and coaching for 20 years.
Mr Quinney's journey to becoming Aldi’s ‘Champion Flipper’ began after he captured national attention by winning two gold medals at a trampolining competition.
The former RAF Physical Training Instructor had returned to the sport after a hiatus of more than 40 years.
His acrobatic flair saw him take home gold in both the team and individual categories.
Aldi has not only recognised Mr Quinney’s sporting prowess, but also his philanthropic efforts.
To honour his achievements and bolster his mission to raise funds for charity, the supermarket giant has generously donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
