A popular clothing shop in a Wiltshire town centre will close in a week after the chain collapsed into administration.
The Original Factory Shop on Melksham’s Market Place revealed its official last day as it continues advertising a closing down sale, with prices slashed and posters announcing that “everything must go”.
According to the branch’s Facebook page, the branch is scheduled to close its doors for the final time on Sunday, March 22.
The Original Factory Shop fell into administration in January, putting the future of the chain’s 137 stores and 1,180 staff at risk.
The Melksham branch’s closing down sale was announced at the end of January, and has continued for almost two months, with staff confirming the imminent closure last week.
Stores around the country have since been holding “closing down” sales. In Wiltshire, the Warminster branch had already closed, while Corsham announced it would be closing its doors on Saturday, March 21.
Posting on the Melksham branch’s Facebook page on March 10, a spokesperson said: “It is with great sadness that we can now inform you all that we will be closing our doors for the final time on Sunday 22nd March.”
An earlier post stated that the branch received its last ever order the day before the official closing date was revealed.

In February, the branch issued a notice to customers to show “sympathy and respect” to staff members as they continued to wind down.
A spokesperson said: “We do not set any of the prices this is set by the administrators, not us. So again please do not come and shout at the team about it's not cheap enough for a closing down sale as has been happening today. This is not us setting these prices we are just instructed on what to do.
“We are dealing with a larger volume of workload currently with new stock still arriving, departments are continuing to be reduced as and when the company decides and we are dealing with a lot more customers which is great, but please bare with us we are doing our best.
“We also see some of the online comments too so please be kind, remember we do not set the prices or deals.
“We continue to be here for the community as much as we can during these tough times for our team. And we thank all of those amazing customers we have that come through our door, and we will not let a few negative ones ruin that for us
