Police have been patrolling shops in a bid to reduce and deter retail crime.

Officers from Warminster's neighbourhood policing team conducted foot patrols across the area as part of a "retail day of action".

This morning, officers visited supermarkets in Westbury, as well as businesses along Westbury High Street.

Further patrols were carried out in Warminster, including Castlemore Retail Park and The Three Horseshoes, before continuing to Mere and Tisbury.

The mobile police station was also out and about in both Warminster and Westbury, offering an opportunity for the public to speak directly with officers.

A spokesperson for Warminster Police said: "Today, officers from the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out conducting proactive foot patrols across the area as part of a Retail Day of Action.

"These patrols aim to reduce and deter retail crime, provide reassurance to local businesses, and engage with members of the community.

"Thank you to those members of the public who engaged with us and provided us will valuable feedback and intelligence."
