1 Wingfield House, a four-bed 18th-century manor house in Wingfield, just outside Trowbridge, has been put up for sale for £1.1 million. It is being marketed by Savills.

 Until the 1940s, the property was one part of the larger Wingfield House, which was then divided up, with this property forming the main part of the original house.

As stated by the agents, dating back to the early Georgian and the Arts and Crafts period, the home’s interiors include a music room and a living space which enjoy views of the garden.

The property also provides about an acre of landscaped gardens incorporating mature borders, a pond, a large separate garage block, and a wonderful Hartley Botanic greenhouse.

According to the agents, the large front door opens into a “striking double-height entrance hall with York stone flooring”, leading to the other rooms including the music room and the library hall and eventually, to French doors opening onto the terrace, pond and the garden.

Upstairs, the agent says, the principal bedroom features “bespoke Gothic-inspired woodwork, an oriel window with Pre- Raphaelite style stained glass, and a concealed marble shower room.”
