A luxury clothing brand will open a new store on a high street just over the Wiltshire border next month.

ME+EM will open its Bath store on Milsom Street in mid-June, the company has confirmed, amid a wave of new openings in the centre of the historic city on west Wiltshire residents’ doorsteps.

Spanning 3,460 square feet and set across two floors, the shop will be the British luxury brand’s eleventh stand-alone store in the UK, expanding its presence in historic destinations alongside stores in London, Edinburgh, Harrogate and Manchester.

The site being taken over by ME+EM was most recently occupied by Ted Baker, but has remained vacant since the latter closed the last of its stores in August 2024.

Occupying a Grade II listed Adam-style building, the new store is steeped in local history, a spokesperson for the firm has said. Original neoclassical details can be found throughout, including intricate bead moulding and a striking period frontage.

ME+EM Bath will become the label’s second store to showcase the label’s new ‘Townhouse’ retail concept which was first brought to life with the redesign of its Westbourne Grove location in April this year.

The ME+EM Townhouse sees the traditional retail layout replaced with stylised rooms designed to create the feeling of being at home in an iconic British townhouse.

The company said the new format encourages exploration and creates a renewed sense of encounter as customers move through the space.

A simple colour palette and minimalist design elements have been intentionally chosen to allow the period architecture and features to shine through.

The Bath store is described by the firm as a celebration of British design, with furniture, fabrics, decorative items and soft furnishing contributions from Robert Kime, Rose Uniacke, and Colefax and Fowler all featuring throughout the store.

The new Bath location will allow local customers to discover curated monthly edits, which, for June, includes tailored separates, summer suiting and the brand’s signature bouclé textured co-ords.

As previously reported, ME+EM’s new branch will be one of a slew of new businesses opening their doors in Bath over a period stretching back into late 2025. The list includes bag shop Cambridge Satchel, furniture shop Heal’s, cookie shop My Cookie Dough, and taproom The Welly.
