A town centre shop has closed down, leaving another empty unit on the high street.
Blue Cross, which had been located at 54 Fore Street, has been left vacant following the departure of the charity.
Animal welfare charity Blue Cross has been helping sick, injured and homeless pets, as well as their owners since 1897.
It provides veterinary care, offers expert behavioural help and finds loving homes for pets in need, with its retail units supporting its fundraising efforts.
Now, however, the charity has lost its Trowbridge branch, with the retail space now unoccupied and the charity’s website confirming it had closed.
The Fore Street branch’s webpage now reads: “Our Trowbridge store is now closed. Thank you for helping sick, injured and homeless pets. To continue supporting vulnerable dogs, cats, horses and small pets, visit your nearest stores.”

The nearest available Blue Cross branches are in Frome and Warminster.
South west Wiltshire has seen a number of charity’s shops shut down their retail operations in the region.
On Christmas Eve last year, British Heart Foundation closed its own Fore Street branch, announcing in the days before that it would no longer be accepting donations.
Earlier this year, Warminster said goodbye to the MS Centre charity shop, which closed its doors on April 14.
A spokesperson for the charity offered “heartfelt thanks” to its volunteers, its “loyal and valued customers,” and said it will “miss you all.”
