Homes and businesses in a Wiltshire town have been left without power after a “safety concern.”
A blackout has hit parts of Bradford on Avon and the surrounding areas on Tuesday, June 2, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has confirmed.
Hundreds of homes do not have access to electricity because the firm has had to isolate power due to a “safety concern.”
An SSEN spokesperson said: “We have had to isolate power due to a safety concern on our network.

“Where possible, we will always try to keep the power on, however, there are situations like this where we need to isolate the power to keep people safe.
“There is no concern for safety at your property, however, there is an isolated issue elsewhere out teams need to make safe before they can turn your power back on.”
Some residents have reported a fire at a telegraph pole near Grange View, but at this stage SSEN has not confirmed if this is the safety concern it is referring to.
At the time of writing, nearly 200 homes were still without power and engineers were working at the scene of the issue.
SSEN aims to restore power by 3pm.
