The council has heard an update on a landmark independent market set to take over a town centre later this month.

Warminster Independent June Market is scheduled to take place on June 28, organised by the town council in partnership with Warminster Business Network.

According to minutes from a town development committee meeting held on Monday, June 1, members received a verbal update from Matt Towl of the Warminster Business Network.

The June Market is now fully booked with 150 stalls covering 180 pitches. It would require a critical mass of additional stalls to extend the market into Weymouth Street.

In their last update on the event, the town council said that while the Warminster Independent Summer Market is fully booked for stallholders, there is still time to get involved in the August and Christmas market.

In May, a Warminster Business Network spokesperson said: “The quarterly independent markets have quickly gained a reputation for being one of the best in the South West due to its range of stalls, choice of food vendors and independent shops.

“So come and join the fun and take part in another fantastic day. Bring your friends and family and make a day of enjoying what wonderful Warminster has to offer.”
