The owners of a family-run business set to close its doors this week have said they are ‘very emotional' with days to go.
Mainlys of Devizes is set to close on either Friday, June 12, or Saturday, June 13, after 15 years of trading out of the town centre spot.
As previously reported, the business announced it would close within months in March this year, well over a decade after it was opened on Maryport Street by Colin and Clare Henrich.
Last year, the couple told this paper they were planning on retiring and leaving the business when their lease runs out in June 2026.
At the time, they had hoped to find a buyer to save the business before they left, but this search was unsuccessful.
The couple has said they have almost sold out of their stock but have yet to decide which date will be the last day of business.
On Thursday, June 11, Mainlys will hold its final clearance sale, which will see everything left priced at £1 or less.
In a statement shared with this paper ahead of the closure, Colin and Clare said: “After many wonderful years serving our community, the time has come for us to close our shop, Mainlys of Devizes and begin a new chapter in retirement.

“While this is a very emotional moment for us, we would like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to all of our loyal customers for your kindness, support, and friendship over the years.
“Your continued support has meant more to us than words can express, and we know many of you are saddened by the news — please know that we and all our staff will miss seeing you all just as much.
“We would also like to give our sincere thanks to our amazing staff, past and present, for all of their hard work, loyalty, and dedication. We could never have done this without you, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you have done.
“Although it is sad to say goodbye, we are also looking forward to enjoying our retirement and spending more time with family and friends.
“From this Thursday, June 11, onwards we will be holding a final clearance sale with everything priced at £1 or less, and plan to close Friday, June 12 or Saturday, June 13 depending on what's left to sell.
“Thank you once again to everyone who has supported us throughout the years. We will leave with many happy memories and a great deal of gratitude.”
