Forest Green Rovers have withdrawn from this season’s National League Cup.

The club said the decision followed 'careful consideration' and was based on a desire to prioritise other fixtures and manage resources more effectively.

A spokesperson for Forest Green Rovers said: "After careful consideration, the club feels our focus and resources are best directed towards our objectives in the National League, FA Cup and FA Trophy."

"The significant operational costs involved, alongside an already packed fixture schedule, were key factors in reaching this decision.

"We look forward to a busy and exciting season ahead, and thank you for your continued support."

The National League Cup, a 32-team midweek competition, includes 16 National League clubs and 16 Premier League 2 under-21 sides.
