A new housing development is bringing Trowbridge’s first zero-carbon homes to market.
Located on Frome Road, Lambrok Mead is the latest scheme by Newland Homes, which has a track record of award-winning projects in the town, including Newland Place—a regeneration of the former Wiltshire Council offices completed in 2021.
The Lambrok Mead development includes 50 two, three, and four-bedroom properties, each designed to deliver zero-carbon living from the day residents move in.
These homes feature renewable energy technology such as air source heat pumps, high levels of insulation, and solar panels to minimise environmental impact.
Conrad Maggs, site manager at Lambrok Mead, said: "We are delighted to be back building the first zero carbon homes in Trowbridge.
"Throughout my career, I’ve always enjoyed helping people develop their skills and progress within the industry, so it’s particularly rewarding to see colleagues that I’ve mentored, like Rhys, go on to take on site management roles of their own.
"Knowing that commitment to quality and craftsmanship is being passed on to the next generation is something I’m very proud of."
Mr Maggs previously managed the Newland Place development and has been recognised nationally by the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) for his attention to detail and high standards.
He has also mentored Rhys Capstaff-Taylor, who started as his assistant and has since progressed to site manager.
Homes at Lambrok Mead have already been released for sale and are rated ‘A’ for energy efficiency and environmental impact, exceeding current building regulations.
The development also aims to improve local biodiversity and create green spaces for residents and the wider community.
Mr Maggs said: "We’ve also been careful to design a comprehensive landscaping scheme, which over time will replace the existing declining trees with more appropriate replacement native species.
"There will also be a substantial area of public open space to the north of the Lambrok Stream, ensuring that the area continues to be a great place for residents and other locals to enjoy the outdoors."
Newland Homes is offering a limited number of 'dusty boots' tours before the show home and marketing suite open, giving prospective buyers an early look at the site.
Zero-carbon homes at Lambrok Mead are currently available from £310,000, with Movemaker and part exchange options to assist buyers.
