Teenager arrested after Trowbridge ‘knifepoint robbery’

A teenager has been arrested after a man was allegedly robbed at knifepoint, with police now asking the victim to come forward.

The incident is alleged to have happened on Manor Road in Trowbridge between 4am and 4.30am on Sunday, July 5.

A man wearing shorts and a light coloured shirt was reportedly chased into Gainsborough Rise.

A 16-year old was arrested in relation to the incident and has been released on bail.

Officers have said they need to speak to anyone involved in the incident “as a matter of urgency.”

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Officers investigating a reported street robbery in Manor Road, Trowbridge need to hear from the victim of this offence - who remains unidentified at this time.

“The male victim, wearing shorts and a light-coloured top, was reportedly chased down Manor Road and into Gainsborough Rise at about 4.00am - 04:30 in the early hours yesterday (July 5).

“We have arrested a 16-year-old boy in relation to this incident, who is currently on police bail.

“If you were involved in this incident, we need to hear from you as a matter of urgency.”

PC Layton based in Central CID said: "This is a concerning incident in which someone appears to have been threatened by a person with a knife and robbed.
