Two-vehicle Trowbridge crash sees 30-year-old arrested

A man has been arrested following a crash between a car and a van on a busy road.

Wiltshire Police say the collision occurred on West Ashton Road, near Trowbridge, at around 5pm on Thursday, July 9.

The incident saw a Volkswagen Golf and a Nissan Primastar collide, and saw the road close to all traffic while enquiries took place.

The force has said that a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, and has been released under investigation.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At around 5pm yesterday we responded to a collision on West Ashton Road, Trowbridge, between a Volkswagen Golf and a Nissan Primastar.

“The driver of the Golf, a 30-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has since been released under investigation.

“The road was closed to allow for enquiries to take place and has now reopened.”
