A man has been arrested following a lengthy investigation into a number of indecent exposure incidents in a Wiltshire village.

Police have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of seven counts of exposure, three counts of outraging public decency, and three counts of voyeurism.

The charges relate to a string of incidents in Southwick, near Trowbridge. As of Friday afternoon, he remains in police custody.

The arrest was made after a member of the public spotted the suspect before flagging down patrolling officers on the evening of Thursday, August 20.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Charly Chilton said: “We appreciate the significant amount of concern and distress that these incidents have caused in the area.

“We have been conducting regular patrols in the community over the past few weeks and we’re pleased to say that following another incident yesterday, local officers on patrols were flagged down by a member of the public and the suspect was arrested.

“This type of offence is taken incredibly seriously and we encourage anyone who has experienced or witnessed such behaviour to contact us."
