Officers have stepped up patrols following reports of car meets in a Wiltshire supermarket car park.

Officers from the Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out focused operations on August 26 and 29 at the Aldi car park, Carbana Car Wash and along the A3102 Swindon Road.

Police attempted to engage with drivers at Aldi, but no offences were found.

The patrols came after residents raised concerns regarding ongoing anti-social behaviour in the area.

Reports have highlighted gatherings of vehicles late at night, excessive noise from modified exhausts and driving offences.

Police said the gatherings have had a significant impact on the local community.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We will continue to monitor these areas through targeted patrols and enforcement activity, while also providing education and engagement where appropriate.

“Officers will also remain vigilant for other forms of anti-social behaviour throughout the town and surrounding villages.

“Your information helps us identify issues, target our patrols and keep our communities safe.”

In a separate incident, one off-road motorbike was seized in Cricklade due to having no insurance.

Residents are encouraged to report their concerns either using the non-emergency number 101 or online via the Wiltshire Police website.
