A yoga brand is building its business with a focus on community and environmental responsibility.
Root & River, based in Corsham, produces premium yoga mats and practice tools designed to balance performance with thoughtful materials and nature-inspired aesthetics.
Root & River’s products reflect the influence of their Wiltshire surroundings, with muted, nature-led tones and organic design details inspired by the local countryside.
The company says it prioritises sustainability in its choices, using natural rubber and a water-based polyurethane surface for its mats, and packaging designed to reduce unnecessary materials and make more considered choices wherever possible.
Yashoda Baker of Root & River said: "We never wanted Root & River to grow in isolation.
"We’re part of a wider yoga community, so it feels natural to work together, learn from one another and grow together.
"There are so many teachers and practitioners doing interesting things across Wiltshire and the surrounding area.
"We don’t see ourselves as separate from that.
"We are another small business within the same community.
"The environment here has also had a real influence on Root & River.
"It has shaped how the brand looks and feels, but also how we think about materials, sustainability and our responsibility as a business."
Now just over a year old, Root & River is expanding its network of teachers, practitioners, and partners across the region.
The company has been actively building relationships within the yoga community, featuring real teachers and practitioners in its content, photography, and brand development.
Its approach to growth is rooted in collaboration rather than simply marketing products.
Root & River sees teachers and practitioners not just as customers, but as partners in building a shared yoga culture across Wiltshire and beyond.
This community-focused philosophy extends to the company’s wider ambitions.
For Root & River, staying connected to the people and environment that inspired its founding is just as important as reaching new audiences.
The company remains committed to contributing to the broader yoga and wellbeing community throughout the county and the South West.
