A former PE teacher has appeared in court accused of sexual offences against a teenage pupil.

Bronwen James, 30, from Chippenham, appeared at Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday (September 1), where she denied four counts of sexual activity with a child in abuse of a position of trust.

The charges relate to alleged offences involving a 16-year-old pupil at Bitterne Park School in Southampton.

It is alleged the offences took place while James was employed at the school as a PE teacher.

James denies the allegations.

Wiltshire Police said information about support available to victims of abuse, and how to report sexual offences, is available through its website.
