Wiltshire spot has starring role in Netflix's The Gentleman

Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen season two landed on Netflix on September 3 with a familiar location in episode two, entitled There’s a Rat in the Kitchen.

Season two follows as Eddie Horniman (Theo James) and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) expand their cannabis empire into Italy, where new criminal rivals threaten their growing operation.

In episode two, Eddie Horniman and season one’s villain, Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito), meet in Salisbury Cathedral.

The episode begins with Stanley saying: “This cathedral has stood here for nearly a thousand years, almost as long as your family has possessed its title.

“It’s generally accepted that man has not evolved architecturally since the construction of these medieval cathedrals.”

The characters talk about architecture and symbolism and look at one of the four surviving copies of Magna Carta, which is on permanent display at the Chapter House in the cathedral.

As previously reported, the filming crews for The Gentlemen series were seen at Salisbury Cathedral on June 6 2025.

The cathedral was closed to the public, with dozens of vehicles, including vans, trailers and a catering unit, seen on site.

The drama was largely filmed at Badminton House in Gloucestershire, Loseley Park near Guildford and Ashcombe Estate in Wiltshire.

The series was also filmed at the Greenwich Peninsula, Bullock’s Farmhouse, and Swakeleys House in Ickenham.

The series stars Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Hugh Bonneville, Vinnie Jones and Maya Jama.
