Police are hunting for a man after multiple bottles of alcohol were allegedly stolen from a supermarket during a two-day shoplifting spree.

The thefts are believed to have taken place in Trowbridge at Tesco Extra in County Way on August 17 and 18, according to Wiltshire Police.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the series of thefts.

The man is described as white and is believed to be aged between 40 and 50, with short grey and brown hair and a goatee.

Police are asking anyone who recognises the man, or has information about the reported thefts, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 54260100775.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “The incidents have taken place at Tesco Extra in County Way, Trowbridge, on August 17 and 18, with multiple bottles of alcohol taken.

“The man is described as white, believed to be in his 40s to 50s, with grey and brown short hair and a goatee.

“Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54260100775.”
