Damage has been reported at a former Wiltshire hospital site after a suspected unauthorised encampment was seen there over the weekend.

At least two caravans were photographed at the former Trowbridge Hospital site in Seymour Road on Sunday, September 27.

It is reported that the encampment had left by the morning of Monday, September 28.

Photos taken after the site was vacated appear to show damage to grass verges and CCTV cameras.

It is not currently known how the damage occurred, when exactly it happened or who was responsible.

The extent of any damage and the cost of repairs have not yet been confirmed.

Wiltshire Times has contacted Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Council and NHS Property Services to establish whether they were aware of the encampment, whether any action was taken and if the reported damage is being investigated.
