A DRUMMER, who taught Phil Collins how to play, appeared at The Arc Theatre in Trowbridge at the weekend.
Lloyd Ryan has played the drums for more than 40 years, and has performed in 650 shows across the UK and Europe.
His shows have appealed to both drummers and non drummers alike and his latest tour, Bangin’ For Britain, is no different.
At The Arc on Sunday evening, he talked about his career in show business including working with artists such as Tony Christie, Matt Monroe, Brotherhood of Man, The New Seekers, Tommy Cooper and Bobby Davro, among others.
He interacted with the audience and offered tips to any budding drummers.
Some of Ryan’s former pupils include Derrick McKenzie from Jamiroquai, John Coghlan from Status Quo, Nick Simms from Cornershop and Keef Hartley from John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers as well as Phil Collins.
Ryan has written a book, The Complete Drum Tutor, and is a regular columnist for many drumming magazines.
