Marlborough went into this game on the back of three impressive victories so they were confident going into this game against bottom of the table Yeovil.
The opening to the game was open and chances at both ends were created but no one could force an opening, until Rob Hill scored for the visitors with a trademark short corner.
Marlborough settled down and started to play the ball around nicely and were rewarded with a goal from Will Hughes after good work from Ed Gosling.
Steve Way missed a penalty flick on the stroke of half time to leave the scores level.
The second half was again an end to end game, with chances being created by both sides.
Marlborough broke on the counter attack and scored through Steve Way again after good work from Gosling, who rounded the keeper and Way slotted the ball into the empty net.
It then went all wrong for Marlborough who took their foot off the pedal.
Yeovil scored again with a lucky deflection to make it 2-2 to leave Marlborough were on the back foot.
They conceded a short cornerand Hill scored again with his trademark drag flick.
Marlboroughtried to play their way back into the game but the visitors held them off comfortably to return home with the points.
Midfielder Ed Gosling said after the game: “I’m gutted, we played some nice hockey, but at this level if you give away short corners against someone who converts 80 per cent of his chances, you know you are asking for trouble.
It’s a shame, we were putting a nice little run together leading up to the Christmas break.”
