A roadshow to promote a free helpline for people adversely affected by the recession came to Trowbridge.
The stand, in Fore Street, was manned by staff from the Citizens Advice Bureau, which runs the free phoneline, as well as Wiltshire Council staff.
Wiltshire Council has given the CAB £290,000 to run the service, which gives advice on benefits, housing, paying bills and managing debt.
Project manager Tony Thatcher said on-the-spot advice was given on Friday and some people were directed to the CAB’s offices in Mill Street to receive help.
The phoneline number is 0844 375 2775. The roadshow was in Devizes today.
