Arsonists have destroyed two boats moored at Shearwater Lake near Warminster.
Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Shearwater Sailing Club’s boat house in Crockerton at 12.25am on Thursday.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately beneath the boat house, which destroyed two rescue boats.
A fire crew from Warminster had to force entry to the boat house before using breathing apparatus and hose jets to extinguish the flames.
A quantity of oil leaked from the boat’s engines into the lake and the Environment Agency were called to deal with the spillage.
The fire crew left the scene at 2.10am.
