EXCITING winger Luke Gullick has signed for Toolstation League Premier Division outfit Calne Town.

The talented 19-year-old could make his Lilywhites debut on Friday when Southern League giants Bath City visit Bremhill View.

Gullick netted 17 times for Biddestone last season to finish leading goalscorer at the Yatton Road club. His performances for Biddestone brought him to the attention of Corsham manager Colin Bush, who put in seven days' notice of approach for the midfielder in February. But Gullick rejected the Southbank club because he wanted to stay loyal to Biddestone.

But with a university place in the offing next September, Gullick has decided to make the step up to Premier Division level.

He said: "I wanted to set myself a new challenge because I may only be in the area for another year. "Biddestone have been good to me and I wish them all the best for new season, but I thought this was the right move for me.

"I know Robbie Lardner and some of Calne players and they have really helped me to settle in. "The club have done some work on the pitch this summer, which should help some of the more technical players."

Lilywhites boss Lardner said he was delighted to have Gullick on board. He said: We are always looking to improve the squad and Luke is just the kind of player I have been looking for.

"He has genuine pace and he also scores goals, which is a good combination in any player. I'm sure he'll do very well for us this season."
