Leekes in Melksham celebrated its 18th birthday at the weekend, with an auction of goods hosted by TV presenter Paul Martin.
On Saturday, Mr Martin, who hosts Flog It! on BBC2, ran the auction of 18 items including a sofa, TV, DVD players and a coffee maker, with £1,600 raised for the NSPCC.
On Sunday chef Hazel Middleton held cookery demonstrations for customers, and there were deals on offer across the store.
Leeks manager Matt Gelder said: “I couldn’t have asked for more. The auction was a resounding success. Paul Martin did a fantastic job on stage. We probably had 300 or 350 people for the auction, it was a really good turn out.
“Some people got some real bargains, but the overall idea was to make money for the NSPCC and people got into the spirit of that.”
The Beanacre Road store, opened in 1992 and welcomed more than 2,000 people through its doors on the first day. Game show host Leslie Crowther officially opened the store and visitors enjoyed a display by the Red Devils parachute team.
