Last week many residents living in the Melksham Without North Ward were due to start recycling both cardboard and plastics along with black boxes containing other items for recycling.
Due to the fact our blue bins hadn’t been delivered, this didn’t happen.
When I phoned Wiltshire Council I was told that the information that had been sent out was not correct, but we should put our household waste and composting out the next week with cardboard and plastic starting the next week.
In the end our blue bin for cardboard did turn up, but many residents had to chase the council’s contractors down the road as so many homes were missed.
Today was household waste and compost day for collection. To my amazement one lorry turned up and took both bins. So much for recycling, the name Fred Karno’s Army comes to mind.
