Further to to the comments made by James Sloane comparing the new Civic Hall to an overgrown Butlins chalet, an eyesore and standing out like a sore thumb. I have to say I completely agree with him.
The mixture of different exterior construction materials are out of character with any of the existing local buildings. The roof is mainly flat, and will no doubt leak in a few years, the wooden cladding will require regular maintenance, and the hideous green metal panels will discolour over time, all adding to extra cost for ratepayers.
I am sorry to say the local authority has once again invested millions of pounds of ratepayers money into an even more ugly monstrosity than the previous Civic Hall.
