I am afraid Ruth Black is wasting her efforts in seeking to stir up Wiltshire Council in last week’s letters.
The council is obliged to save money by central government and has cut back finances and staff.
I have a suspicion that there are now insufficient staff to do what local people would wish. If there are insufficient staff resources, mistakes are made, promises cannot be kept and no-one goes to see Ruth, as promised. The whole service becomes even more inefficient as a consequence.
I fear we face a second class service for the next few years and it would be nice if Jane Scott and her colleagues on the council would admit that fact.
We are told we are all in it together. We are definitely ‘in it’. Whether we are together is, perhaps, debatable.
