A man has been warned he could be jailed after he admitted possessing more than a kilogram of cannabis when he was arrested in Seend.

Jason Martin also had £5,340 in cash when he was detained by police on Monday, April 18, last year and was in possession of an air gun when he was prohibited from doing so.

The 36-year-old, of Pilton, near Glastonbury, admitted possessing class B drugs with intent to supply and having an air pistol within five years of his date of release after being sentenced to a prison term of three years or longer.

Martin denied two charge of possessing bladed articles in a public place.

George Threlfall, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court the Crown did not think it necessary to seek a trial on the knife charges.

Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Thursday, May 17, to allow the probation service time to compile a pre-sentence report and released Martin on bail.

He said: “The fact I am granting bail shouldn’t be taken as any indication of the final outcome of your case.”
