STAFF and parents of children at the Fitzmaurice Primary School in Bradford on Avon have proved their tasty treats can sell like hot cakes.
A bake sale at the school to raise funds for the Finlay Foundation sold out of wares within ten minutes. With the tables cleared, only the crumbs were left.
The sale last Friday was organised by staff as a thank you to the Devizes-based
charity for donating 60 high-visibility jackets to the school.
The bright yellow jackets will be available for use by all of the pupils and will enable them to stay safe when going on school trips.
Claire Brown, the school’s administrative assistant, said: “We are very grateful to the Finlay Foundation for donating the high-vis jackets. They will be used by all the pupils across all the year groups.
“The bake sale is our way of saying thank you to the charity. We will be donating the £99.69 we raised to the Finlay Foundation.”
The foundation was set up in memory of Finlay Connor, six, who was killed in a road accident in 2011.
