RESIDENTS at The Wingfield Care Home were treated to a song and dance on Friday to celebrate the healthcare provider’s 25th birthday.
Around 50 people, including Trowbridge Mayor Deborah Halik, headed to the home, in Wingfield Road, on Friday for live music from entertainer James Hogg and to raise a glass or two to resident Dorothy Woods who turned 101.
The event was organised to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Barchester Healthcare and operations manager Vivian Laurent was delighted with how the day went.
“It was a fantastic day for everyone involved. It was lovely to see some of the residents bond with their families and also get up for a dance,” he said.
“Dorothy was in great spirits and thoroughly enjoyed her 101st birthday, I hope there will be many more.
“I want to thank the Mayor for coming down. She spoke to each family which was really nice of her.
“It is always good to give our residents something to look forward to and this certainly delivered.
“Everyone went home happy, which is how it should be.”
