PUPILS at St Augustine’s in Trowbridge fought off fierce competition from hundreds of teams to win a place at a nationwide business and accounting competition.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales put 4,173 business-savvy pupils to the test in the competition called BASE.
Pupils from St Augustine’s Catholic College excelled in a number of areas including commercial awareness, organisation and resilience, and will go on to represent Trowbridge at the National Final which takes place in June.
Justin West, ICAEW acting director of global student recruitment, said: “This year we have seen an increase in the number of students taking part, making the competition stronger than ever. St Augustine’s Catholic College students showed excellent initiative throughout the process and presented themselves professionally.”
