THE family of the late Michelle Phillips have presented a cheque for £275 to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance in Devizes.

John and Sandra Phillips, of St George’s Court, Semington, and their twin sons Darren and Darrel, have been fundraising for the charity since April 2004.

Their daughter Michelle tragically died in a car crash on Good Friday, April 9 2004, on the North Devon Link Road aged 26.

Back in September, John, 73, and Darren took part in the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Big Wheel Cycle Ride. Using Michelle’s old bike, John cycled 12 miles in her memory.

Darren also showed his support by cycling alongside John. His twin brother lives in Cyprus and was unable to take part.

Including donations given to Michelle’s mother, Sandra, for her 70th birthday, the family raised £275, taking their running total since 2004 to £15,678.61.

Sandra said, “I?want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, especially over the past 13 years since losing our lovely Michelle, as all this helps us get through each day without her now.”

Sandra, Darren and John Phillips handed over the cheque to Wiltshire Air Ambulance paramedic Ben Abbott.
