AN application to build 20 homes in Hilperton was submitted to Wiltshire Council this week.

Charlcombe Homes Ltd put forward plans to the authority to build the homes on land just off The Grange in Devizes Road.

Whilst dozens of trees will not be cut down, 15 or so, such as Ash, Cherry, Beech and Horse Chestnut, will be felled to make way for the houses.

Nearby resident Geoffrey Richards, of Ashton Road, was not in favour of the plans being so close to his home.

“There does not seem to be the business centre on the plans,” said Mr Richards on the planning application.

“Apart from the errors in the plans I object to the proximity of the new houses to my house and think the nearest houses could be sited further to the East opposite The Grange.”

Comments are invited until March 9 and Wiltshire Council should deliver a verdict by early May, at the latest.

The planning application number is 18/00985/FUL
