GRAHAM Shadwell, twice a winner in 2005 and 2013 when representing Clarrie Dunbar, has qualified once more for the Area 16 Champion of Champions final.

He will meet Malvern Hills junior England international Ryan Atkins in the area final on the neutral green at City and County of Bristol on Tuesday, November 21 at 7pm.

To reach this stage of the 2017/18 champion of champions competition Shadwell thumped former England team mate John Hick (Clevedon) 21-7 in the semi-final to book his place against Atkins.

Previously Shadwell had beaten Matthew Elly (Purnell) 21-12 and in a tight area quarter-final Christie Miller’s Andy Moore 21-18.

Should Shadwell beat Atkins in the Area 16 final he would have to go into an inter area final against the Area 17 winner possibly Robert Paxton (Taunton Deane).

The winner of the inter-area final qualifies for the last 16 and grand finals at Warner Leisure Hotels Lakeside, Hayling Island, Hampshire at the beginning of February next year.
