CHIPPENHAM Town had Darren Mullings sent off as they went down to their second National League South defeat of the Christmas period, 2-1 at Hungerford Town.

The Bluebirds fell behind as Will Richards deflected into his own net, but the visitors were back on level terms before half-time as Mullings netted the equaliser.

However, Mullings was then shown a second yellow card in the second period and Hungerford took advantage, Alex Wall bagging the winner.

Melksham Town claimed the west Wiltshire Boxing Day bragging rights as they inflicted only a second Toolstation League Premier Division defeat on Bradford Town at Trowbridge Road.

The visitors grabbed the lead in the first half as Chris Allen found the net with a free kick and, after home keeper Jamie Bartlett had saved from Gary Higdon, Ballinger netted for a second time to double the advantage for Kieran Baggs' men.

The points were wrapped up after the break as Warren Maidment netted the third for Melksham, rendering Matt Morris' late response for Bradford as a mere consolation.

In the First Division, Devizes Town claimed their second win in three days as they edged out Corsham Town 1-0 at the Southbank, Matt Russell's header deciding the contest.

Calne Town wrapped up another comfortable three points as they won 3-0 against Chippenham Park at Hardenhuish Park, Matt Hudson, Billy Gleed and Stu Windsor on target for the visitors.

Westbury United grabbed their second win of the festive period as they won 3-1 at Warminster Town.

Malmesbury Victoria's Boxing Day clash at Bristol Telephones was postponed.

In the Premier Division action on Saturday, Bradford had thrashed Longwell Green Sports 7-1 on Saturday, Karim Rendall nettinga hat-trick, Sam Jordan twice and Morris the other goal.

Dan Demkiv, Ollie Webb and Gary Higdon netted for Melksham in their 3-2 win at Odd Down on Saturday.

In the First Division, Jay Walters and Jack Hopper netted for Devizes Town as they edged out Chippenham Park, for whom Ben Pring found the target.

Robbie Tripp scored Corsham Town's consolation as they were beaten 3-1 by Oldland Abbotonians.

Calne Town eased to a 3-0 win against Warminster Town, Jamal Chevolleau, Stuart Windsor and Josh Hard the scorers.

Westbury United were also 3-0 winners, as they condemned hosts Malmesbury Victoria to defeat, Dan Price, Mark Robinson and Jamie Jordan finding the net.

In the Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday, Royal Wootton Bassett Town slipped to a disappointing 3-1 home defeat at the hands of the division's bottom side Highmoor-Ibis.

Kieran Maylen, Ricardo Catlyn and Bailey Roffe netted for the visitors as Gio Wrona hit Bassett's sole response.

In Division One West, second-half strikes from Sam Mepham and Connor Marsden handed Pewsey Vale a 2-0 win at Letcombe.
