MARK Collier has moved to plug the hole in his Chippenham Town goalkeeping ranks by bringing Will Puddy back to Hardenhuish Park.

Puddy, who had a 24-game spell with the Bluebirds in their 2011-12 Southern League Premier Division season, will make his comeback to the club after concluding last season at Southern League Premier Division champions Hereford.

The move follows gloveman Jared Thompson's departure from Chippenham to rejoin parent club Chelsea.

Warminster-born Puddy, 30, has been much travelled in non-league football circles and also played 23 times for Bristol Rovers between 2014 and 2017.

Starting his career at Bath City. he has also featured for Cheltenham Town and Salisbury City since emerging from Bristol City's youth set-up in 2004.

Collier said: "Will had many offers including the chance to stay full-time.

"However having found employment locally he has agreed to sign, having worked with talented keeper previously I am fully aware we have secured the services of a top keeper.''
