WARMINSTER are hoping to build on a strong pre-season showing as they prepare to host Minety in their opening Dorset & Wilts One North fixture on Saturday.

The amber and blues claimed a 36-22 triumph over Bristol Harlequins and defeated Tor 19-15 before falling to a narrow 36-33 loss to Southern Counties South outfit Walcot.

Head coach Emosi Naisaramaki has put is players through a gruelling pre-season regime filled with fitness sessions and team drills to work on structure and movement in an attempt to give them the edge this season.

Warminster have retained Jimmy Rees as club captain with Steve Rowbotham taking over as first XV captain, with eight players recruited to boss squad depth.

Scott Blaszkiw will continue as second XV skipper.

Elsewhere in Dorset & Wilts One North, Melksham face a difficult match away against Royal Wootton Bassett 2nd, while Westbury will play at home against Colerne in Dorset & Wilts Two North.

Bradford on Avon begin their Southern Counties South campaign with an away trip to Yeovil.
